Motivation to Speak English Language among Arab EFL Students at Jerash University, Jordan

The current study seeks to investigate students’ level of motivation speak in English among Jordanian EFL undergraduate Jerash University, Jordan. paper is important finding out and ways enhance their speaking. Study sample consists 351 students five lecturers. questionnaire adopted from Gardner (1985) with 32 items determine motivation. 35 5 lecturers sat for interviews. results show that 86.1% respondents have low do not perceive themselves be motivated speak. Qualitative suggested having collaboration between lecturers, parents as all them share the responsibility change approach teaching teacher-centered student-centered approaches. Future researchers are encouraged use methods investigating such learning diary order gather more accurate data.
